Dylan got a job!

Dylan got his first job! He's a greeter for a bank. A local bank set up a bank at our elementary school and it is run by the fifth grade. It is open one day a week so that kids can make a deposit (withdrawals have to be made by the parent and child at the main branch) or open an account if they so choose. Dylan had to fill out an application and interview with a bank rep. His first day is tomorrow, he has to be at school at 7:30 am, wish him luck!

What a deal!

What is one to do with a growing 11 year old who comes downstairs every morning saying "these pants are too short, mom" or "mom, look at these sleeves, oh well, I'll just push them up" ? Make a trip to Once Upon a Child and get 3 pairs of nice jeans (one brand new) and seven shirts (mostly Gap) for $50! The end.

Playing catch up

Here are some pictures to catch you up on a few of the million things that have been going on around here.

Lily turned two.

The big boys' school raised $18,000 at their ''Jog for Jefferson".

Grant got spiky hair and Lena got pig tails!

Dylan 's baseball team came in 2nd place in his league.

Dylan finished a huge project for school where he had to design and build his own land.

We went to the 'stonybrook stampede' a church sponsored country affair for dinner and square dancing and jack discovered the great fun in square dancing!!! The three ladies in the last picture are sisters who are in their eighties and and they sang a song about 400 hogs!
Sorry I haven't been blogging more regularly lately. The days just seem to zoom by! I'll try to do better.

We saw the Wizard of OZ play this weekend in Mansfield. It was put on by children and it was great! I love me some Wizard of Oz :-). Remember when it was only on once a year, before videos and DVDs? That was a big night at our house, dad would make popcorn and I remember at least one time we went to my grandma's house to watch it with our cousins. Well since the tunes are fresh in my mind, I decided to serenade the boys this morning as they woke up with a lovely rendition of Somewhere Over the Rainbow.....Grant's response, "Mom, Dorfy (Dorothy) sings better than you, you're horrible!". Ah well, so much for 'happy little bluebirds flying over the rainbow, why oh why can't I?'
