Boobs for dinner?

A few nights ago we ventured out to Polaris for dinner. Most everywhere was packed with a long wait so Matt saw the Tilted Kilt in the distance and said, "Hey, Scott told me they had good wings there." Ok. We went in and told the girls we had a party of five and then I looked up....and saw the boobs! The waitresses had very tight and very small shirts on , sort of like a bikini top, bare middles, very tiny kilts and then bare legs and knee socks. Oh my. I looked around and the building was cool, there were tv's everywhere and they did have kid menus with crayons...so we went in and had a very good meal. We watched the buckeyes and I told the boys to keep their eyes off of the boobs! Every time the waitress came over, the boys looked straight down at the table ;-) If you are looking for good food with a side of bosoms, head on over to the Tilted Kilt for dinner.

Baby/toddler shower

Today my friends and I celebrated the arrival of our friend's newest addition to her family, sweet 18 month old Isaac. She brought him home from Columbia a few weeks ago and we wanted to welcome him and celebrate with a little party today.

Here we are and here is a picture of all of our kids, minus the 4 that didn't attend and the one (Grant) who ran from the cameras.

We are a pretty rowdy group when we're all together, lots of laughing and running around, nerf fighting, Wii gaming, ping pong playing, talking, and wine, I mean coffee drinking ;-) Congratulations Michelle and welcome to the gang Isaac!

New pet and Lily's gifts

No that's not a partridge in our tree, it's our new parakeet. I'm just not a bird kind of girl, so when it escapes its cage and flies around the house, you'll hear me screaming and covering my head. Matt likes it and it keeps him company, so I guess it/she can stay.

And I just wanted to share pictures of Lily with one of her Christmas presents.

She was so excited, she wagged her tail and kept showing everyone her presents.

Merry Christmas

Merry Christmas to all and to all a good night ;-) 11:21 p.m. and I'm calling it a night. The children and grandparents are snuggled warm in their beds, I'm pretty sure St. Nick has tucked a few presents under the tree, and I'm hoping everyone is having sweet dreams of sugarplums dancing in their heads.

Candle picture

Picture of candle didn't show on last blog post.

December so far..

Sam, my nephew turned four. He had a great transformer party.

We put up our Christmas tree.

I made this vintage Santa postcard garland for free, I saw it for $40 at a garden store.

Dylan had his first band practice concert. There were 86 6th graders in the band! It was way better than I anticipated. Each section was introduced and escorted into the gym and played a few notes before the whole band played together. It was very simple and ended with 'Merrily We Roll Along'. I couldn't get a good picture of the band but here is my handsome trombone player.

He also made the papers for honor roll :-)

Grant made this candle holder for me at school. We lit it for dinner and he was thrilled.

And lastly, I HAD to buy Lena, my niece, an early Christmas present today.

Her first ruby slippers! They are so tiny and so obnoxiously cute. Grant kept saying, "Mom, I just can't stop looking at those shoes, they are so cute."

The little boys are off to my mom's for a ride on the Polar Express this weekend, Dylan is spending the night at a friend's house on Saturday and we are headed to my friend's 40th birthday party.

Happy weekend!
