Worry

I worry in phases. Sometimes I don't have much to worry about, but then there are times when it just seems like every time I turn around, there worry is, waiting for me. Illness of loved ones, son struggling with reading, one son crying over punishment at school and another son crying over bullying, one son crying over stomach pains...worry. I guess that's my job as a mother, daughter, wife, friend. I care about and love my family and friends and so I worry. And as I sit here and worry I stare at this verse written on my kitchen door, "Don't worry about anything. Instead tell God about everything. Ask and pray. Give thanks to Him. Philippians 4:6.

Hello Sunshine

I'm sitting here at the kitchen table with the sun on my back, yes, the sun! The kitchen window is cracked and my three sons are playing basketball outside! Hurray! Never mind the dust and the spots on the windows and the dry leaves blowing around the floor, I'm going outside:-)

Happy birthday to my mom! Anything I say about my mom can't compare to the wonderful writings of my sister on her blog, Tangible Joy. She has a way with words and her words about mom were perfect. I love you mom and I wish you the happiest year ever!

Popping pimples

Picture this, me standing in the kitchen this morning eye to eye, no really, eye to chin with Dylan. Me explaining to Dylan how to pop a zit on his chin. He wouldn't let me touch it so I was trying to coach him in the fine art of popping zits. He first tried to position his fingers while watching my reaction to see if he was correct or not. After failing the first few attempts, he ran to get a mirror from the bathroom. Why, you ask, did we choose to pursue this in the kitchen and not go into the bathroom, I don't know? I held the mirror and he scrunched up his face, looked out the bottom of his glasses, and stuck his tongue behind his lip and squeezed and rubbed and finally he was met with some success. It took a lot of self control for me to just not quickly pinch that sucker myself (sorry if this is seems weird to you, but my fellow 'pickers' know exactly what I'm talking about here). Anyhoo we did it together. Another mother/son event for the record books, page entitled: My first zit.

Reading and collections

Dylan reading Fox in Socks to Jack and Grammy Farmer, they love that book.

Jack reading his new book fair chapter book to Lilly (it's about dogs).
And here are a few random pictures I took this morning of the boy's collections (piles of junk).

Grant's side of the nightstand : fishing lures, Little Red Riding Hood, assoted legos, dream catcher, army guy ball, flashlight gadget, bottle cap bracelet, and a treasure chest?

Jack's side of the nightstand: Ducky, Lego ship, Junie B. Jones book, and

A whole basket full of treasures too numerous to name :-)

Dylan's desktop: James Bond books, two library books, legos, party goody bag, rita's coupon, notebook, army ball, grenade, and another basket full of stuff

Way too much 'stuff'. His drawers are jam packed with more who knows what!
and finally Grant cleaned out the toy box this morning and created a 'set up' which he insisted I photo:

Wow! Cool huh?

Words

Just wanted to post a few of Grants's words to entertain and to record.
Yogurt as in 'watch out for the scary yogurt (ogre) in the basement'.
Thourth as in the place after third.
Martin King Luther.
And there was another and it has completely left my mind.....see why I need to record these things?!
