Car chat

On the way to the dentist this afternoon, Jack said, "God has to be alive right, or we wouldn't be alive because he made people." Then we talked about how God made everything and people too a long long time ago. Adam and Eve were the first and we all came from them. There was a short silence and then Grant asked, "Well didn't Michael Jackson live a long time ago? He died right mom? Did God make him? He was the greatest rock and roll singer ever right, mom? Hey what about Bruno Mars? Is he dead?" I couldn't even answer before all three boys were bickering back and forth about who the greatest rock and roll singer was, when Michael Jackson died how many songs he sang, and on and on...From a nice conversation about creation to Michael Jackson??? What???

Squirrel

Imagine my surprise when I came downstairs to make lunch and a squirrel was climbing my kitchen window!!!! Lily was going nuts, and finally the poor baby squirrel fell and Lily threw it around for a little bit all the while I was screaming, "Ah, oh....." ! Matt came out and helped me separate Lily from 'her catch' and the squirrel just layed on his back screeching until Matt calmed him down and he rolled over and was able to climb the tree to get away? His leg looked a little gimp and I think he was a nervous wreck :-( I just checked the tree and he wasn't there so I hope he is somewhere counting his blessings :-) A member of the squirrel's possy already came looking for Lily...he came right up and banged on our French door?!! I'm a little scared....

Song

I heard this song this weekend and I just fell in love with it,
Blessings by Laura Story.

...what if the trials of this life were Your mercies in disguise?

I hope everyone had a wonderful Easter. I had a great day with my family. I am feeling truly blessed for EVERYTHING God has given to me.

Grant described Easter this way: Did you know Jesus was nailed to a cross and he died? Then, guess what happened? He came alive again. He made a bridge, a bridge for us to get to heaven. Wow!

Career day

Today was career day at school and Jack got to dress up in a costume of what he wanted to be when he grew up. There was quite a discussion at breakfast. Jack just couldn't decide: poker player, spy, army guy, writer, artist, jungle animal helper. He finally decided on a marine biologist but when he arrived home he had switched to an Olympic swimmer! Dylan still wants to be a pro baseball player. And Grant decided on multiple occupations: Reds baseball player, football player, spy and (my personal favorite) a tiger (as in the animal).

Rejoicing

As many of you may already know, my mom has breast cancer. She had a lumpectomy last Monday and she got the pathology report back yesterday and it was great news, perfect news..no cancer in the lymph nodes or the lobe they removed! Hallelujah! I am rejoicing today with my mom and all who love her.

Surprise Surprise Surprise

Last night I got the surprise of my life when I opened the door to a 'friend's daughter's dance recital' and 150 of my favorite people yelled 'surprise'! l just don't have the words. It was totally amazing and overwhelming, one of the best days of my 40 years! I had absolutely NO idea, I mean I was totally clueless! Many thanks go out to everybody for their 'behind the scenes' duties: the decorations, the food, drinks, cakes, babysitting, setting up and tearing down, just everything! THANK YOU! And the party, the dancing and singing, so much fun!!!! And to Matt, the greatest, sweetest, most thoughtful husband in the world, thank you most of all. I love you. I just still can't believe it wasn't a dream...
