THE shoes

Grant got my camera and took lots of pictures of his very favorite possession...

-

His baseball light up shoes that are literally falling apart. He loves these shoes. He loves that if we are out after dark they somehow still light up, he loves the velcro straps, he loves the baseball on the side. If he is asked or forced to wear another pair, look out, its not pretty. It's hard to argue with a cute little boy who just loves light up shoes.

Ballgames

Dylan finished up his spring baseball season Saturday. Friday night his team played a great game and won by two runs! Here they all are after the win.

He's got the allstar game next week then we're done for a little while at least.
Sunday we headed out to the Clippers game with Bob and Connor. It was hot, I mean really hot. The kids soaked themselves in the fountains and then the clouds finally rolled in and we got some relief. The boys all went down and ran the bases after the game.

I love going to ballgames, not sure why. I'm enjoying baseball more the older I get, not that i'm old but i'm just sayin'. It really brings back memories of my grandpa listening to ballgames on his radio on their screened in porch.

I Do

My cousin Lisa got married this past Saturday. She looked beautiful, as my mom would say "a vision". Here's the happy couple, Lisa and Erik.

The ceremony was a tear jerker for sure, lots of Kleenex. The reception was a blast. Lots of dancing (and sweating), food, singing and laughing. Jack participated in a dance contest (he placed himself second), we all got on the floor for the good ol' hokey pokey, chicken dance and the electric slide (my Aunt Nancy's favorite). We even tried to salsa and a new line dance. Here's a few pictures.

Congratulations Lisa and Erik and thanks for a fun night.

AWWWW!

We had a busy day today. First off, the grocery store for some much needed groceries. Next we headed to a dollar theater to see Diary of a Wimpy Kid. It was a pretty funny show. It's a movie based on a series of books that Dylan has read. After the movie we decided to walk down to a Half Priced Bookstore. Well we found another store on the way...a pet store with LOTS of animals to play with.

So many cute little baby animals. We AWWWW'ed our way through the store for about 30 minutes. That last little baby, the cockapoo, I almost stuffed right in my purse :-). We pried ourselves away from the cuteness and made it to the bookstore and stopped at McDonalds for some fries and drinks. We got home in time to run Matt to the airport and rushed home to pack up a cooler with dinner and head to the pool. Whew! I'm ready for bed!

Happy belated fathers day to all you dads out there. We are lucky enough to have a very special dad live right here at our house :-) Matt is a fantastic dad to our boys. He loves them so much and that love is returned in full, just look at their faces!

Big announcement...

Guess what? I've got some news. (No, I'm not pregnant!) Dylan was chosen to play in the all-star game later this summer! AND his team won their game last night! Dylan caught for the whole game and was so excited. He was throwing off that catchers mask and yelling plays, it was fun to watch. They had a double header last night and their second game ended at 10:00 pm with a WIN! Yes, the whole family stayed for both games, yes we got eaten up by hungry Mosquitos, yes I have tired boys today, yes all the little brothers (6 of them) ate way too much candy from the concession stand, but who could walk away from a field full of EXCITED sweaty boys in dirty baseball uniforms playing under the lights?!

Water water everywhere...

If we're not playing in it, it's falling from the sky (enough of the rain already)!

Let the wild rumpus begin....

Well, in three days we have managed to travel to Sunbury for a big play date, swim, visit a new playground twice, pick strawberries, play with friends in the sprinklers and attend a concert in the park. The boys are getting along pretty well and no injuries to report thus far :-). (Oh wait a minute, 1 bee sting and a titch of a sunburn). Here are some pictures of our adventures this week.

The big kids were learning how to play 'dumb dora', it's just like spoons.

Teacher gifts

The last day of school is approaching fast so you know I had to whip up a couple of cute gifts for the boys' teachers.
I stole this idea from Traci at Beneath My Heart, it's for Dylan's teacher.

It's a bag filled with Mint candies and gum with a little poem about how much Dylan's teacher 'mint' to him. Cheesy but cute!
Jack's teachers gift is so cute, I want to keep it for myself. I asked him to tell me 10 reasons why he thought Mrs. Smith was a great teacher and I made an accordion book.

I LOVE his description of her "...a face like a girl..." I'm so grateful the boys had good teachers. They took good care of them while they were away from home and that deserves a great big THANK YOU!
PS. If you click on the pictures, you'll be able to see the poem and the book better.
