Gloria

It seems that this year at preschool, my name has changed from Miss Lori to Miss Gloria or Miss Glory ;-) I've tried to correct, but I think it's funny.

Blessings

Matt was unexpectedly laid off two weeks ago which was upsetting, but we made it through and Matt is currently at his new job :-) He is amazing and smart and sensible and strong and I'm one lucky girl.

We were blessed by such great family and friend support. People called, prayed, sent messages and a lot of people just stopped over to say, "Hi, I heard about your job, what can I do?" It was nice to know so many people cared and a great reminder of how blessed we are.

It was also a good lesson in looking at our expenses and reducing and eliminating a lot of unnecessary things. We re-prioritized and we feel so good about it. These things we are surrounded by are just things and I guess Matt and I just kept that in the forefront of our minds.

God is always in control, he knows the plans he has for us, plans for good and not for disaster, plans to give us hope and a future.

Headbands

I don't think I shared these pictures of the headbands I made for my niece.

Mom got her a dressing table for her birthday so I got her all sorts of goodies like nail polish, lipsticks, jewlery and of course, the headbands to play with. I bought the bands but made the embellishments. They are very tiny and cute, just like Lena.

Funsucker

Do you ever feel like the funsucker? I admit it, I am a funsucker. I make the boys eat fruits and vegetables, I make them do homework, I make them shower and go to bed and read and wear helmets and clip their fingernails and wear coats and shoes and take their vitamins and come inside and wear sunscreen and.....

On good days, I get to have lots of fun with the boys but there are other days, days like today, when I am the funsucker extraordinaire. I don't like it, I'd like someone else to suck fun, but alas, this is a part of the job of motherhood.

My friend, the original funsucker, got me a cup with funsucker written on it. I think its time for a drink.

Funny

Yesterday we visited the Johnstown flea market, it is huge, as in a-couple-of-acres-huge. Grant and I had to search for a bathroom at one point in the day and I told him that the port-a-potties were very far away, "These must be on Timbuktu."
He thought that was funny and so on our long journey out to find our car at the end of the day, he asked, "Are we parked in Timbuk-one or Timbuk-three ?"

Also yesterday as we were driving, we passed a silo in front of a strip mall and it had an ATM machine at the base of it. Jack said very excitedly, "Look guys, a silo full of cash!"

One more, it's not so 'laugh out loud' funny, but it tickled me. Friday night I was driving Dylan to a buddies house to spend the night and it was dark and the friend lives off of some pretty curvy roads and Dylan was very interested in my driving. "Mom, how can you see? Turn on your brights. Do you know how? Just pull that lever. What's the speed limit? 45? Are you kidding me? That's too fast for this kind of road. It should be 25. Mom, watch out for the big curve coming up." Let's just hope that he's this cautious when he starts driving.
