Week in review

Sunday: Slept in, walked around downtown at the festival, went to jack's last flag football game of the year (his team won their division) Jack crashed into another kid and has a huge bump on his forehead.

Monday: Safety town for Grant, playing at home, dinner, Zumba, all star travel baseball tryouts for Dylan (he made it).

Tuesday: Safety town, Zumba, pool, painting robots, dinner, baseball tournament game (Dylan won), I had 'words' with another mother who was yelling at my son.
Wednesday: Safety town, pool, painted watercolor robots, watched an awesome baseball movie, The Perfect Game, based on a true story about a little league baseball team from Mexico who won the little league world series, dinner, baseball game (Dyaln's team lost by four runs, but a good game).
Thursday: Safety town, grocery store, made strawberry freezer jam, Aunt Nicole's house for lunch and playing, Grant pegged Jack in the head with a tennis ball on his bump, took Jack to doctor to double check his bump and everything is ok, no fracture, home for a little rest, to pool for hot dog night where Grant jumped off the diving board!

Friday: Grant graduated from safety town, I cried, we had lunch, trip to Target, Sonic slushies, played at home, Dylan mowed, Dylan had a very exciting baseball game and they won by one point, I went out with some girlfriends, got home to find out we have another boy in the family for 6 days (Dylan's teammate's family is moving to Charlotte and he so wants to finish playing in the tournaments so we/Matt offered to keep him until Thursday when we leave for vacation and our first stop is in Charlotte to drop him off to his new home).

Saturday: All boys to Grants last baseball game, Lily and I picked up Lena and Nicole and headed to my parents house for a wedding (the flower girl from my wedding got married), had a great visit with my parents, Lena fell asleep on my lap, attended a beautiful outdoor service at a winery with delicious food, left Lily with my parents to dog sit while we are on vacation, drove home late and walked in the door just in time to hear Grant screaming about a tummy ache, crashed in bed!

Picture catch up

Dylan got me a new app for my iPad to make photo collages, maybe you saw the collage of Jack's flag football game. Well I made two more :-) The first is just random summer pics and the second is Dylan playing ball (who, by the way, was asked to play in the all star game and asked to try out for a travel all star team as well).

Happy Father's Day

Happy Father's Day to all the fathers out there and especially to the great fathers in my life. I have been blessed.

We started the day off sleeping in, yea. The kids bombarded Matt with presents and their card they've been working on.

His main present, a portable hammock, was back ordered :-(

We walked to the Blues and Jazz fest downtown and ate an expensive lunch and the kids all rode a ride. Then we rushed to Jack's last football game in the pouring down rain. He lost the game but his team won the division championship!

Then home for a nice dinner together and some relaxing on the back porch.

Happy fathers day, Matt. Your boys are very lucky to have you for their dad.

Wednesday

With such wonderful weather today, I started off in the garden weeding and picking raspberries. The garden is coming along slowly. It has been so dry and the bugs are awful this year. I have never sprayed my garden for bugs before this year and I've had to do it twice now to save most of the plants.

Dylan's going to make raspberry coffee cake tomorrow.

Jack was at camp today doing archery, BB guns and swimming while Grant and Dylan lazed around most of the morning in their pj's. After lunch, I put them to work though. Dylan mowed and Grant helped me paint our wooden gate.

Lily watched squirrels and napped.

After a cancelled football practice for Jack, we all walked down to Creekside for some ice cream and ended up at a baseball game behind our house.

Dylan decided to sleep in his brothers' room tonight in a sleeping bag.

Today was a great day, thank you Wednesday.

Photos

So much has been going on lately.

Matt's dad suffered a heart attack and some complications after that, most of the cows had to be sold, and Matt's dear Aunt Louise died. The boys are all mid season into their summer sports, school finished up and I am now the proud mama of a seventh grader and a third grader and a kindergardner, my dad had his second knee replacement, Jack started scout camp this morning, and Dylan had his last band concert.

Even though I haven't been blogging, we've been crazy busy and I just don't know where to begin. I have taken lots of pictures so I'm trying to figure out how to make photo collages so I can share all of those with you.

Wish me luck.
