Pony Boy

"Mom, I'm not a real cowboy."

39-No joke!

My birthday was April 1st, yes, I'm serious.  The boys gave me their presents early, Dylan-a silver sand dollar charm, Jack-purple heart crystal earrings, Grant-a box of chocolates.  Matt got me a fantastic family tree necklace with my family's names stamped on it from Lisa Leonard Designs :o)  I'll post a pic later.  We hung around the house, ate lunch on the back porch, gave Lilly a haircut and went to the farm to help out a little.  We worked and played in the barn and then had a great dinner at the house with Matt's parents and Aunt Weez complete with cake, candles and presents.  YUM!  It was a great day.

My Aunt Crick sent me a card about wanting to give me the sun, moon, and stars but then realized through my blog that I already had them, I have to agree.  I am truly blessed.

A-hiking we will go..

We went hiking at Hocking Hills on Wednesday, what a beautiful place, I can't believe we've never been.  Some of the trails were a little steep so between yelling at the boys to slow down and hold our hand, we did manage to enjoy ourselves.  Here are a lot of pictures from the day:

We stopped at Laurelville for lunch at a local diner and we all sat around the counter.  Delicious lunch!  We returned home dirty, wet and tired-in other words-a perfect day.

Toledo Zoo

On Tuesday, we headed to the Toledo zoo.  It was a great zoo, we all had a really good time and the boys want to go back soon.  It's an old zoo with neat old buildings.
My favorite was this gorgeous polar bear!  It was so cool to see him swimming.
Of course, the reptile house was a big hit.  The insect house was cool as well, we got to see some BIG spiders being hand-fed!
We also liked the hippos as we don't have any at our zoo.  They have a huge pool, but none were swimming :o(
Grant had a little trouble in this exhibit! LOL!
The boys in disguise.

What's that noise?

After church today, it was time for Sunday school.  Let me first just say that Grant does not enjoy going to his own class.  He used to be in my class but we have separated the age groups and now he is supposed to go to his own preschool class.  We tried a few weeks ago and it started out well,  no crying at drop off.  Soon after, several other crying preschoolers were dropped off and Grant's teacher discovered him crying in the corner so she brought him to my room. So today he was not happy to 'try' again.  I dropped him off kicking and screaming, no, I mean SCREAMING!  I waited outside the door and listened to what sounded like a caged animal?!  After a few minutes, I went to the door to get him and both the teachers were trying to calm him while he was screaming at them to 'MOVE' and 'OPEN THAT DOOR'!  Totally OUT OF CONTROL!  I took him to my room and got him settled down.  He did great with us, he raised his hand for every question and did all of the activities and was able to repeat what he learned.  I advised him after church that we would 'try his class again' to which he replied, "I'm not going back to that toopid (stupid) class, mom."  Who calls their Sunday school class "toopid"?  My son, that's who :o(  What have I done?
