Notes

I 'had' to make a trip to the fabric store on Monday night and I took grant with me. While we were shopping around, I was having Grant take notes about what we still needed to get. He happily obliged and wrote as I spelled. That night when I was looking over my list, this is what I found :-)

Mrs. Claus and a dancer

Don't pass out, I'm still alive and kicking. I just had to post today.

This afternoon Grant was asking if Santa ever died? I told him no and upon hearing this he got very excited!
"Mom, that's awesome! I wish I could be Santa, then I would never die. And you could be Mrs. Claus. We could live forever at the North Pole and Daddy and Dylan and Jack could come too."
Six year old minds never stop.

I took the little boys to Zumba with me tonight much to their dismay I might add. The teacher knows my name and talked to me a couple of times during our workout which the boys thought was very cool. At one point, she told the class if they got lost to just watch me, BAHHHHH! Try not to laugh out loud, yes she called me a dancer, BAHHHH! Anyway, Grant was full of compliments when we left.
"Mom, you are a great dancer, you have gotten a lot better, you are skinny now, you are so strong, you should go every night!"
I think he must want something....

Mrs. Claus and a dancer all in the same night, I'm on top of the world :-)

Bye bye 5, hello 6!

Grant turned 6 today. He looks so grown up in that picture. We had his party Saturday and today he had candles on his waffle, a birthday treat for school, his picture on the morning show at school, family present opening, family kick ball game and dinner at Arby's ( his request). Pretty good day I think. I kept telling him stories all day about when he was born and when he was little. His favorite story is when I used to come upstairs to wake him up from naps and his brothers were in the crib with him :-)

He had a few buddies over for his Avenger party and we had a beautiful day. They had to complete a super hero training course.

And of course break a 'bomb' piñata. Grant, Jack and I made the piñata the old school way.

I made masks for the kids.

I found lots more cute ideas on pinterest.

Lily even enjoyed the party.

Happy birthday Captain America! Now go save the world!

Catch up

Here's what we've been doing:

Grant finished his baseball season last night at the all star game, Dylan is still playing tournaments, Jack had his first football game Sunday, Grant had a butterfly parade at school, and the two younger boys had a jogging fundraiser at their school and both won prizes for running the most laps in their grade (Grant ran 4 1/2 miles and Jack ran jack ran 5 1/2 miles!), scouting and camp outs, Dylan took a hunting training class, and of course work and school. Writing it down wears me out.

Gloria

It seems that this year at preschool, my name has changed from Miss Lori to Miss Gloria or Miss Glory ;-) I've tried to correct, but I think it's funny.
