Butterfly Parade

Jack's class just finished up a big unit on Monarch butterflies.  They raised caterpillars and watched them make cocoons and then emerge as butterflies.  Today was their parade which is quite a tradition at Jefferson Elementary.  First was the parade and singing, so cute!

Jack's in the camo, and yes I did miss the memo on wearing black...

Next came a quiz all about butterflies, the kids are all watching Mrs. Smith.

Then they released their butterfly to fly on to Mexico (I'm sure Matt will pass him on the flight home from Mexico today :o) )

And finally, butterfly crackers!
