So I've been meaning to post this story all week, here goes. We had our OSU party Saturday and the night before we received a phone call from Ann saying that she was touched that Matt remembered her and that she was indeed coming to the party. Who is Ann you ask, so did I. Last April, Matt was flying home from somewhere and sat beside an elderly lady named Ann on the plane. They struck up a conversation that ended up lasting the entire flight. She had recently moved to Columbus and wasn't very happy, didn't have any friends, didn't know her way around, but loved Buckeye football. Matt told her about our party we have every fall and told her she should come. Well time passed and I'm fairly sure she forgot about Matt and the party, but Matt didn't forget about her! He sent her an invitation in the mail with directions and even bought her a jar of tomato juice (her favorite drink). She came and brought a little boy she watches because he has sort of been abandoned by his parents. What a nice lady. I think she had a good time and was grateful for the invitation. She even hugged us when she left. She still is having a hard time adjusting to life here but I think she was brought to Columbus for a reason, that little boy she looks after (who happens to be her neighbor) needed her. I hope she realizes that she was an answer to his prayers. It was nice to meet her. Now about that husband of mine....how thoughtful is he? Just another reason I love that guy!
